I am an ex-MOE teacher in Raffles Institution for Language Arts that has both English and Literature components. I have taught and tutored for many years in both local government schools and international schools, covering English, Literature and History for Sec, JC, IB students.

Currently have ten IB students & 10 A level students.

My students were from ACJC, MJC, AJC, Hwa Chong Intl, ACS IB history, SAJC and also 2 RI students for H3 History
For IB, I tutored IB Year 5 and 6 students from ACS international school and SJI international school.

I've taught at Zesprion a private international school before as well. Mostly Thai and PRC students who come to Singapore to work on their English

My classes are very small as well, with a maximum of 4 students for Secondary classes and 3 students for JC classes. I believe this level of attention is what helps my students improve.

I am friendly and able to build rapport with my students. Many of my students tell me they have become far more interested in language and current affairs after attending my classes.

Apart from using articles from TIME and National Geographic to teach, I use the local newspaper as well to educate my students on local affairs, from Singapore's conservation efforts to its position on human trafficking. Fiction is another good way to introduce students to the world of creative writing.

Most of my worksheets are created by myself and are targeted at students of different abilities. It would not be right to give an average student something too challenging and it is equally pointless to make an exceptional student complete an exercise that is too simple.

In my classes, the focus is on vocabulary, writing and current affairs as these are fundamental skills when it comes to examinations and interviews. My students also know they can ask me questions at any time and I will get back by the next day.
