I was teaching at Catholic High School and have been tutoring fulltime Produce results (when kids work hard too and desire to excel). Grades for students: AL1 / AL2 Consistent effort throughout the year to attain AL1/2. Tutor’s Strengths: Upper primary: Creative writing Comprehension Cloze strategies Lower primary: Grammar Composition Comprehension Experienced in coaching students in show and tell sessions and public speaking. Current students are in the lower and upper levels - Primary 1 to 6. Great with kids. Firm but gentle. Lessons are tailored to child’s areas of concern. In the event that worksheets are used in addition to assessment books, parents’ help will be needed to help print for child’s use. 

Able to help kids navigate through creative writing techniques, Situational Writing, cloze passages and comprehension. 

Pupils who start out as mediocre and average with weak grades in the C or B categories, do progress with success to the next best grade under my guidance. For students with weak grades, AL1 / 2- achievable, but only with students putting in the daily effort.

While it's not considered professional tutoring as I wasn't getting remunerated, I do have experience of teaching PSLE students in group tutoring sessions. I personally utilize an envisioning type of teaching which requires my students to imagine and break down problems before solving them.

I have 3 years experience of teaching a student from when she was sec 2 to sec 4 now, preparing for her O levels. Her grades have improved from barely passing to being the top few in her school tests. I am patient when teaching and always ensure that the student understands before moving on. I try to make the lesson as engaging as possible and constantly motivate the student to do better. I always try to find out the reason in the case that the student does not do well and shares study tips along the way. I would also help to find the student to find the study method most suitable for him / her.
