Close to 11 years of teaching experience. Currently teaching at a tuition centre as well as teaching privately. Have taught many students across different schools and streams before in my many years of teaching. Over the years, I've gathered experiences to tackle different students' weaknesses and to break down concepts to what they can understand. Most, if not all, of my students improved. The most recent success story will be a sec 2 NA student who was scoring 24% for science for his SA1 exam. I was engaged shortly after and his results improved to 64% for this SA2. I am a tutor with over 3 years of experience coaching secondary school students in English and JC students in General Paper. With almost three years of experience tutoring IB Chemistry and as a top student (top 6%) at the university of Oxford, I have confidence in my ability to break down complex Chemistry topics and deliver them effectively - all my students attained grade 7 in the N21 examination session and one of my students improved from grade 3 to 6 in just two months. Lessons are supplemented by diagrams, models, and targeted questions. Each lesson, I adjust my teaching speed and style according to my understanding of the student and how they may be receptive to a particular chapter’s content. Every few topics, I prepare a personalised mini quiz testing the content covered, with extra emphasis on areas that I feel the student is lacking in. This ensures that all their weak spots are addressed, and also equips them with the appropriate answering style preferred by IB. Nearer to exams, I focus more on topics I know the student is weak in and allow them to clarify their doubts from the chapters tested and focus on past year papers to adequately prepare them.
