I also emphasize on linking concepts between separate chapters for them to have a higher level of understanding and better appreciation of the subject.

Has been tutoring students for the past 6 years (4 of them as a full-time tutor). Most of them for Primary Math & Science, and occasionally Malay, Arabic and Secondary Math. Experienced in group settings during my relief teaching in a private school for 4 months in 2022 (Jan-Apr) for O level Physics and Secondary 1 Math. Successfully boost students' self-confidence and interest in studying (e.g. from hated tuition to looking forward to lessons, from hatred/avoidance towards word problems to being okay towards them). As a result, an improvement in grades (e.g. from failing to a C grade for a Primary 4 student). Have also incorporated personalised teaching methods (e.g. incorporating the use of cue cards for memorisation, using Lego bricks to understand and learn models in a fun way). Background in psychology and psychotherapy has made me realised the importance of a two-way communication between students and teachers, and how giving encouragement can help students to have fun and efficient learning experience. By exposing them to these positive experiences of learning, it will then help increase their motivations towards studying and thus develop a self-initiated learning character in them that they could benefit from later on in life.
