Even as a comparatively young teacher, I had recently led my current school to achieve a new CCA achievement, in emerging Champion for Song Category in the Red Cross Art Festival 2010 (National level), top three fund raising school in Singapore Red Cross Flag Day (North Distinct-2010), Excellence Unit Award¢__Ô_‹Ð Silver (2010) and sustained Community Service Award-Gold (2010). I am currently studying part time in UniSim with a degree Translation and Interpretation I was also successfully awarded UniSIM Study Award in 2009 a joint UniSIM-NTUC Sponsorship in July (2010) in recognition of my existing grades, education and academic potential. .

I also have a diploma in Education (specialization in Chinese Language in Education) from the National Education of Singapore. My training in these institutions has prepared me well to meet not only your stated requirements but also in other areas which will contribute greatly to your establishment, such as in the areas of computer software and internet operating skills. In addition to the objective skill requirements described, I have other competencies which will greatly fulfill the job requirement of a tutor. One of which is my experience with the cultural uniqueness of Singapore, having resided and been educated here since young. It has imbued me with a sense of cultivated cultural sensitivities in my interactions with diverse races in Singapore. My bilingualism in both English and Chinese with spoken English and Mandarin is in part due to my education in Singapore. In addition, I am helping out as a student ambassador in UniSIM and was featured in My Paper and UniSIM Education Fund flyer to help promote the importance of life long learning. My greatest strength however, lies in my ability to communicate and understand team dynamics.

Instead I would rather the student understand the fundamental concepts of the theory (for sciences and even mathematics) so that they understand the workings that they perform. I often do this by leading the student through the problem solving process by questioning and giving parallel analogies. I am committed at ensuring that the students understand what they learn and am strict during lessons. I sometimes allow the students to complete questions wrongly first to gauge where their misconception lies so that I could highlight their mistakes (In turn they are aware of the possibilities of such mistakes) and this also help me to identify where exactly the student might not have fully understand the concepts and address the issue accordingly. Understanding links between the different chapters and concepts will allow students to better remember the concepts. Secondary level: 5 years tutoring Sec 1-4 level in maths, Science, Physics, Chemistry, E/A maths. IP level: JC1 IP students from RVHS and RI. JC level: Tutored JC H2 maths and physics for 2 years.
