A graduating A-Level student who's passionate about Biology and Chemistry! The top student of my Secondary school with 7 A1s - all through hard work, and smart work. I genuinely believe that quality of work matters, more than quantity, although both are needed to get that A at the exams. One needs time management, content and skills to do well. I am not only able to impart my knowledge of Biology and Chemistry - I don't wish to read the textbook to you - I aim to help students to understand concepts rather than just rote memory work, and understand the concept at a level where they are then able to apply to any question the exam will ask for, and give students the confidence that they are exam-ready. If you're willing to work hard with me, I'll work hard with you. Though I have no formal tutoring record, I was a peer tutor in my Secondary school as I had stellar grades. I helped my classmate to move from C5 to A1 in her O-Level Biology!

I offer O-Level Biology and Chemistry for both Sec 3&4. Combined Bio/Chem is welcome as well!

Lower sec science students are welcome too - It's always great to get a good foundation before moving up to the challenge of upper secondary science.

Preferred locations include Bishan, Marymount, Thomson, AMK, Toa Payoh, Newton, Novena, and anywhere along the Circle Line between one-north and Serangoon.

I adopt the fun and active approach; my lessons are usually fun and interactive with lots of quizzes and inspirational stories to motivate students. I help students to understand the purpose of study and be inspired using fun and tested pedagogical learning methods - especially important to motivate students for higher performance. My lessons are very fun and engaging I have taught for more than 20 years, with experience teaching over 10,000 students. I will be infusing proprietary Attitudinal and LifeSkills training like resilience skills, mental agility, and emotional intelligence in academic subjects in STEM; these LifeSkills (we term these skills in educational psychology as Social Emotional Skills) are premised on scientifically proven learning methods in my research in the National Institute of Education NIE/Nanyang Technological University NTU (NIE/NTU is the only teaching authority in Singapore) and are evidence-based ways of developing character and LifeSkills training for children. I use a lot of concept maps to enable students to learn all the key points (keywords to be used in Science Qns),.. applying the concepts in practical real-life situations (some of these real-life applications are used Qns found in PSLE exams).
