I understand that patience is an important factor in tutors as everyone learns at a different pace. I guess my teaching method is to break down the concepts to make it easy to understand and be patient in explaining them until my students get it.

Application is also important so I will definitely go through the questions aside from theory.

Taught math, science. My recent students were from Poi Ching primary school; math was about 60 initially, over the years managed to score a range of 70-90. Taught him from pri 2 to pri 6, Changkat Changi Primary school; always failing math, managed to pass math after teaching. Taught him from pri 1 to pri 5. The recent primary4 student, she is the top for Maths in her class for her mid year exams. Sec1-2: Maths. She got b4 for her Maths at first. But at the end of sec2, she managed to get A2 and the school recommend her to take up A maths. Many of them scored pretty well for their exams.

I have 3 years of tutoring experience.

I tutored a sec 1 NA boy (geylang methodist sec) math and science for half a year (in 2015), then a sec 3 girl (tamping sec) science (chemistry & biology) till her o levels (2016-2017). Im not sure what was the exact sore the sec 1 boy got for his final exams but he failed rather badly during his midterms. His brother told me that he did improve but I am not sure by how much. The sec 3/4 girl got A2 for her o level science, an improvement from her usual B3/4 grade during her midterm and end term school exams.

Currently I have four years of teaching experiences. I taught adult beginners as well as children beginners. I also have experiences coaching students with autism syndrome.
After lessons with me, students have improved their sight reading and theory skills. They also improved on their technical skills while enjoying music as a process.

Apart from teaching in ABRSM or YAMAHA syllabus, I seek to provide more information to value add students in their music education. In addition, I tailor lesson plans to each and every student according to their various learning styles and needs.

I've always believe that there are usually two types of students; one who consistently performs well while the other picks up speed slower than the first. There is no student that will not end up performing up to his expectations. I belong to the latter.

During my secondary and polytechnic studies, I chose having fun over studying. Even when I have interest in the subjects, I would not find the motivation or drive to put in long hours of studying. With barely adequate efforts, I keep geting poor results. In my third semester in polytechnic I saw how much opportunities my fellow classmates had, because of their high GPA. I suddenly find myself re-examining my goals in life, and finally i can see the road ahead of me. All's that left was to start running. Despite getting better grades in the remaining semesters, my cumulative GPA couldn't get a boost to meet university requirements.

Nonetheless, I was proud of myself. I knew this was only the beginning, and I wanted to learn more and also make up for the lost time. This spurred me to further my education in SIM. While i was studying in University at Buffalo, I gave my 200%, absorbing and learning as much as possible. My strong foundation allowed me to give tuition to my classmates on business and finance related modules. I have achieved a A grade for all of my finance related modules. I took the Bloomberg Aptitude Test and achieved a score of 600 which place me in the 96th percentile internationally.

I received a sponsorship to represent SIM at the Harvard Model United Nations conference in Boston, MA. It is time for me to help those who are in the same position as me back then.I am confident in teaching accounting and finance related modules to secondary school and polytechnic students
