I have one year experience teaching Chemistry and Math to secondary school students, in group and one-to-one arrangements. I also have experience teaching writing/literary skills and General Paper on an ad hoc basis to several JC students.

I strive to make lessons they learn in school communicable on their level, tailored to how they learn.

I consider methods and approaches to be most important and the most helpful to learning. Knowing how to see things, and how to handle what is given and not given, means the student will know what to do and how to proceed, even if the questions/content are new/unfamiliar. Thus I try to teach my students methods of approach as a means of preparation, and focus on that, instead of the concrete details of the subject which can only bring them so far.

I'm currently in NUS pursuing a degree with honours in English Literature, and I've earned A and A+ grades for almost all my classes. University experience of Literature has supplied me with approaches that I find schools below uni level do not think out, but are very useful in helping a student approach and appreciate texts.

I have been teaching tuition for the past 9 years and I've found great joy in breaking down tough concepts for students in a manner that they can easily absorb. Coming from an Engineering background my concepts in Mathematics are very much based on real world applications and so I am able to teach students the usefulness of any mathematical concept they learn which gives them a sense of purpose when they learn it. I have a also taught English Mathematics and Science to a mildly dyslexic student who eventually aced his N'levels and performed so good in Higher Nitec and currently is in the Polytechinic with a gpa of 3.8 in his final year. Even now I'm still teaching him Further Mathematics which is a University level subject that he was eligible for and would be exempted from when he goes into the university. All my students have got A's for their final exams. All that I've taught so far. Which is a great achievement for me and I hope to coach and train many more young minds into achieving beyond their own expectations.

I have taught for many years to both primary and secondary students the wonderful world of English. I have even coached and taught adults English, including teaching them the writing skills of Business English to help them improve with their work.

My field of expertise is creative writing, reading and speaking. I do believe that it is important for a child to not only read and write good English, but to speak the English language with confidence!
