-I am an ex-teacher for economics and started private tuition for A level economics since 1998 and has been tutoring students taking IB for the past 16 years (since 2008). My students include those from SJI, ACS(I), CIS, HCI and UWCSEA. -My students obtained either 6 or 7 for their IB exam. Last year, 2 students (ACS(I) and HCI) obtained a 7 and 1 student (CIS) obtained a 6. They are able to achieve such good grades due to my ability to help students identifying their knowledge gaps and their consistent application of the strategies taught in lessons. I am also aware that their current school result is important as this may be used to estimate their predictive grade when applying for overseas university. Thus consistent performance is necessary. -I am fully updated with the new syllabus, with the first exam in May 22, as I had been preparing past batches of students for the IB exam since the May 22 paper. -Materials will be provided and student's learning style, based on VARK model, will be assessed, to provide better teaching guidance. -Teaching of economic concepts and further application in the extended response paper (essay) and data response paper using past papers will be done to enhance student's confidence in handling these papers independently. -Question interpretation using cause-effect approach to improve understanding of question requirement. -Essay structure will focus on 4 areas:-definition, concept application, diagram accuracy and appropriate real world examples, to obtain a 7 for essay. -I will teach them to draw accurate diagram that is well-labelled and well-explained. Furthermore, the various economic concepts associated with the diagram will be identified and categorized. -Evaluation using CLASPP framework will be used to enhance the evaluative skills. Conclusion with insights, questioning the assumptions, looking at the effectiveness at different time period, limitations of its use in real life and its effects on different parties based on policy priority will help students to examine different policies and issues critically. -Lastly, I will guide students in their search for useful IA articles, based on various themes under the new syllabus, and to guide them in writing high quality analytical commentary. -Using all the above, just to cite on example, last year, I started to tutor a HCI HL student in February. She obtained a 4 in her first year exam, before tuition. By her prelim exam, she obtained a 6 and this year, she achieved a 7 for her IB exam. So significant improvement can be made through the use of effective learning strategies.

iv. Will assign homework from textbook ( text covers everything that is to be tested, if child can handle the questions from textbook, then he or she will be able to tackle exam questions.
v. Will provide additional questions from worksheets/assessment book if needed and when preparing for tests/exams

I have 7 years of private tutoring experience. I started when I was 18 years old. Most of my students get A1 in their final examinations, provided they do what i tell them to.

Most of my students are from neighbourhood schools in jurong, clementi, bukit batok and choa chu kang. Their results have seen an improvement from failing grades to A1 for students who are willing to worm hard and at least a pass grade for students who are not interested in working hard.
The subjects i teach them are A and E math and physics chem (pure and combined).
