I have taken part in multiple olympiad competitions and notably has attained Silver award in Singapore Physics Olympiad. I believe in going through a problem slowly with a student so that he can understand before moving on to the next topic. Practicing with difficult questions is also essential in improving students' abilities during a school examination.

Tutored 2 students from 2020-2021 for Math and Science. One was P5 and one was P6. My P6 student improved from barely passing grades to at least AL4 in both subjects for her PSLE. I'm highly adaptable and can match well to the student's level, I will also familiarise with the syllabus first to make sure that the things I teach are useful. Straight A for A level Have consistently done well for Math, Physics and Chemistry. Went through the integrated program. Proficient in Chinese so can teach any of the subjects in Chinese if the need arises. I have one year of experience teaching a secondary 3 boy A and E math, His grades jump from 10/100 to B3 and A2 respectively. Also had six month of experience teaching a sec 4 boy Chinese, seeing his grades jump from 50/100 to 66/100. My teaching style is to go through a topic each week, going trough difficult concepts in detail and making sure he understands them. After which, I will go through some questions to check on the student's understanding. I will give the student some homework to complete by the next lesson. I believe that the best way for the student to learn is not to show him the answers completely, but to guide him through the steps and make him think.

I have passion in the primary school syllabus and I enjoy teaching it. I always try my best to make sure that my students improve in their subjects & grades; it's my responsibility & desire to help them to improve as much as they can. The ultimate aim is to get A or A star in PSLE. When they have reached that standard before PSLE, my aim is to maintain it. I have some photos (I have lost some when my handphone got spoilt) of my students' exam marks and I will attach what I have to this email, together with my certificates.

Before the student's examinations, the student will do and I will go through exam papers from other schools with the student.

I have some of my own tuition materials too. For English: 1) English Grammar notes(the harder and/or tricky ones) 2) Spelling rules & lists 3) Commonly Misspelt Words(for the different primary school levels) 4) Vocabulary learning guides 5) Sentence Synthesis notes

For Maths, I have my own problem sums' strategy guide which I have typed out on my own some of the different strategies/formats of solving the different kinds of problem sums and have found many examples of questions from PSLE papers & various schools' exam papers for each of these strategies/formats.

On top of that, I always make sure that they know the basics of each chapter and learn how to do all the different kinds of short answer questions for each chp, especially for the weaker students. From there, we will go onto problem sums and try to do as many different kinds of problem sums as possible for each chapter, focusing also on the different strategies/format of answering questions in my strategy guide.

For Science, I have also compiled most of the key-words for most of the Science chapters and also compiled some harder/trickier concepts for some chapters. The technique in answering the open-ended questions is important - answers must include key-words, and key-concepts too when needed, and the process of answering the question has to flow and include all points of the required answer, and making sure that the last point(or one of the points) has answered the question directly too. In this way, the full marks of the question can be obtained. I also know the various good guide books & good assessment books.

I usually give free extra time to my lessons, if I don't have to rush off for the next student. Whenever examinations are coming soon, I usually extend my lessons up to 3 hours(free extension time), if the student is up to it.

Preferred timings: Monday afternoon till 6.15pm, Tuesday any time, preferably afternoon, Wednesday any time, Thursday any time. Friday afternoon till 5.30pm, Saturday/Sunday 1pm - 3.15pm

I have had 1 year of teaching experience, having previously taught a JC2 girl who was taking H2 economics. She improved from a D to an A in the A levels within 2 months of tutoring.

My style of tutoring is very systematic. If the student is at a phase where he/she is still learning the content in school, I will go through and revise past content with him/her to ensure that the student has a firm grasp of previous concepts so as to build further knowledge. I will also review current materials taught to emphasize key points and highlight where he/she is better-off focusing his/her attention on. During exam periods, I will also review question types and guide the student to learn to interpret questions and find the correct approach. This is done through examining different question types be it MCQ-based, short-answer, open-ended, case-studies or essay-based questions. I will also train exam techniques by limiting the time given to brainstorm for ideas and how to quickly eliminate irrelevant points.

She had never passed math and didn't believe she will ever so. With less than 2.5 months to PSLE, we worked on it and she passed math for the first time in PSLE . Now, she topped her class in math in sec 1, scoring A2 and math is now her strongest subject in school . One of my students scored 8/100 for science P5 SA2 . For PSLE , he scored a B .
