Experience
I am currently teaching O level Private Candidates in a tuition centre. Prior to this, I have also been teaching my peers subjects which they are weak in. I feel that it is very rewarding, being able to make an impact to the students lives just as my teachers/tutors have done for me, hence my taking up tuition as a job.
My teaching method is as such: Depending on the number of lessons before the exam, I would first teach the topic according to the his/her own school's syllabus to make sure the concepts required are well-implanted in the student's mind. Next, practice was never an optional thing. Questions after questions will be given and where a student answers wrongly, I would explain why the student's method is not feasible. Towards the exams, I would ask the student to do mock papers to gauge his/her level of understanding and proficiency. Where there are topics still not well understood, the papers would be able to identify it, and reteaching would be done. Tips and tricks to tackle the exams and methods to answer the question would be taught so that the student achieve the maximum marks possible.
