I believe in tailoring the way I teach to my students, instead of force feeding a certain 'tried and true' approach. I also believe in creating a positive atmosphere during lessons, so the child or young adult will feel enthusiastic about improving their command of English. Education need not be tedious, and understanding the method to the solution is much more effective than blatant memorizing. I have been able to help students as young as Primary 2, to JC 1 by staying true to this philosophy.

I taught students only for English and had 12 students so far, between Sec 1-4 and Pri 1-6. They were from SJI Junior, Catholic High, Qifa Pri and several other schools.

I have taught science to primary and secondary school students as part of Young Educators in Science under the NUS Faculty of Science, guiding them in experiments while teaching them scientific principles.



Whenever I teach, I like to use real world examples as far as possible. Otherwise, I will attempt to use mnemonics or other memory methods if possible.



While not directly relevant to academics, I have also run several magic workshops, and am still teaching magic at NUS Magic, which helps with my ability to communicate with my students.

I have been tutoring since I was in polytechnic, that was about 17 years old. I have always loved teaching since young and have the passion to teach children and youths. Thus with this commitment I took up a degree in Psychology to help me understand children and youths better and also psychologically. I have been tutoring for about 6 years, teaching a range of children from Primary 1 to Primary 6. I also have worked in a student care/Tuition Centre as a centre supervisor. Recently, I have been teaching secondary 1 and secondary 2 students. Students under my care have grown academically and also developed life skills and mind-sets for maturity. I worked on not on their studies but also to develop the child's ability and cognitive self. This will help children to learn better and understand theories easily.
