Experience
As an experienced undergraduate tutor with a strong academic background, I am confident in my ability to guide students towards improvement and success in mathematics. My academic achievements include A1 grades in both A and E Maths for O Levels, an A grade in H2 Maths for A Level and constantly scoring high distinctions for my schools’ internal Maths examinations.
Throughout my tutoring journey, I have had the pleasure of tutoring 1 P4 math, 1 P6 math, 1 Sec 3, and two Sec 4 students in E Math, helping them achieve significant grade improvements. For example, my P4 tutee's average score on timed tests increased from 8/20 to 18/20, and my Sec 4 tutee achieved her first A grade on a weighted assessment. On average, my tutees have seen an increase of two grades since being tutored by me. I have also developed effective strategies for teaching students how to solve word problems through heuristic methods that promote strong problem-solving habits and critical thinking skills.
My approach to teaching is centered on building a strong foundation of knowledge and encouraging consistent practice. To achieve this, I provide tailored materials and homework assignments consisting of carefully selected past year paper questions and topical questions. By doing so, I ensure that my students fully comprehend mathematical concepts and can confidently apply them to assessments and tests. As a current undergraduate student, I understand the challenges that students face in grasping complex mathematical concepts. Therefore, I work hard to identify and support those areas that require more attention. I also maintain open communication with parents to keep them informed of their child's progress and to collaborate with them to identify the best strategies for success.
Overall, my academic background and tutoring experience serve as a testament to my ability to assist students in mathematics. I am committed to helping this tutee and their parents achieve their academic objectives, and I am available to tutor for a year or longer.
