Looking for the best tools to boost your productivity as a student? But you don’t want to pay a fortune to be able to use them, right? Cool!
Today I'll be talking about 5 computer apps and browser extensions that I love using for school studying productivity. I find them super helpful as a student. So maybe these tools from the various application development company can help you as well.
I’d like to start my list with this amazing data recovery software. Disk Drill is a great data backup tool that I highly recommend. Why? That’s because it is one of the best data recovery tools for students. It has a free trial, which is cool.
Most importantly, this best data recovery software enables you to restore all your lost or accidentally deleted files in the blink of an eye. And you never know when it can happen, right?
Instead of falling into panic once you find out that your most important files are missing, it’s way better to give Disk Drill a shot.
The Pomodoro Technique is a way of studying. Basically, it is 20 minutes of intense focus study, and then you get a five-minute break. And then 20 more minutes and then a 5-minute break. It may make you feel like a robot, but it's honestly so effective!
If you like to multitask, and you’d like to fix that attitude of yours, definitely try out the Pomodoro Technique. That’s because it really does work. I am someone who used to multitask a lot, and I was a firm believer that I was good at multitasking. However, if you want to improve your efficiency and the quality of your work decreases, the Pomodoro App can come in handy.
Momentum is a new tab browser extension for productivity and motivation. It displays the time on a beautiful background that changes every day. You can add your main focus for the day, which is basically the number one task you have to complete that day.
It’s also possible to create to-dos. You can cross them once you cope with them. It can be really useful as you can keep all things organized. At the bottom of your screen, you can put a motivational quote. You can change it every day. It helps increase your motivation, and that's always nice.
Momentum also enables you to bookmark websites that you use most often and access them effortlessly whenever you need them. And you also have a small search bar, so you can google things.
I really love this extension because every time I open a new tab, I see a really beautiful picture. Also, I get inspired to get work done and reach my goals instead of watching Netflix all day.
The next app I want to share with you is called X Minds. It helps you create mind maps. X Minds is one of my favorite apps. I use it a lot for studying. I love the customization it gives you.
You can choose from many different themes, designs; you can control the layout, the colors, and even the fonts or the font size.
This is super helpful because sometimes, the default layout can make things look very unorganized. And once you change the layout, you can make things look much neater. You can also add things like relations, floating topics, and summaries.
There are basically more possibilities than you'll ever need. I prefer using the desktop version simply because the keyboard shortcuts make things much quicker and easier.
Overall, I would definitely recommend trying this out if you're a visual learner like me since mind maps or any other visual study methods help you memorize things three times faster.
Here is the next app that I’d like to share with you. I want to talk about Task Aid, which helps you plan upcoming projects and organize your daily to-do lists.
It's available both as an app and as an extension, and on top of that, you can download it for any device and operating system. Within the app, you can add new projects and organize them by tags.
There's a bar that I'll show you to see your progress. Inside the project, you can add to-do
lists and even make the text bold or underline it. You can also add deadlines to everything. And there's even a calendar view where you can see all your upcoming deadlines.
That's very helpful. The app allows you to choose from different layouts for your project.
For example, here's the mind map layout.
You can invite friends to your projects and chat with them in real-time. That's extremely useful if you have to do a lot of group projects all the time. All these options are available in the free version.
So, which app or software do you think will help you most as a student? Let us know in the comments below.
